Lakeview Pantry is a non-profit organization whose mission is to eliminate hunger in our communities by: providing food to fill the basic need of hungry people, increasing the independence of our clients through self-help initiatives and other innovative programs, and raising awareness of hunger and poverty and working towards solutions to eliminate them.
Our vision is to be a stable presence in the communities we serve, and to be a model of compassionate, effective, and collaborative service delivery.
Our ultimate goal is the eradication of hunger and poverty in our communities. As Chicago’s largest food pantry, Lakeview Pantry distributes over 1.3 million meals to the North Side’s most vulnerable residents every year. Through three food distribution programs (including a home delivery service) as well as a comprehensive social services program, Lakeview Pantry serves over 8,000 unique individuals through 40,000 on a yearly basis.
