Chicago’s Haunted Halsted is Back with Parade, Costume Contest and Live Music

Chicago’s spectacular Haunted Halsted Halloween Parade with costume contest and awards show returns, after a year’s absence, on October 31, 2021. The 24th annual Halloween night tradition continues to grow and will now stretch from Aldine to Waveland, in the heart of the landmark LGBTQ+ Northalsted corridor. The Parade is free to attend.
There’s no cost to enter the costume contest with big prizes! $6,000 in cash prizes include a $500 first place and $250 runner up in each of 6 categories: Scary, Drag, Creative, Cosplay, Youth <13, and Group <6. The Large Group category for 6 or more people has a $1,000 first prize and $500 runner up. Participants can register in advance on the website (hauntedhalsted.com) or on-site before the event.
October 31st will cap off more than a week of Halloween events along Northalsted including the Lakeview Halloween Pup Crawl 10/23, Halloween Ball at Hydrate 10/27, Northalsted Bar Crawl, CircuitMOM Takeover 10/28 at Sidetrack, and more festivities.
