Contest Rules

  1. Participation in the Northalsted Find Spot Scavenger Hunt constitutes acceptance of the Rules.
  2. No Purchase Necessary. Some optional Bonus Challenges may specify a purchase (excluding alcohol).
  3. Contestants must use the Roamli mobile app, and create an account and username.
  4. Open to Contestants & Contestant Teams age 21+.
  5. A Contestant Team is defined by multiple people logged in using the same account/username.
  6. Contestant/Teams will search for the Proud Spot mascot at the locations identified in the Roamli app and take photos of it for submission to complete Challenges and be awarded points.
  7. Some locations may offer an optional Bonus Challenge of their choice for additional points.
  8. Additional outdoor points of interest challenges are also available.
  9. A contestant may only compete once in the contest either as an individual or part of a Team, but not both.
  10. Maximum team size is 4 people, submissions may only come from 4 different phones under one username.
  11. Photo submissions for Challenges must be original photos taken by the Contestant/Team between 10/22/2022 and 10/31/2022 inclusive. Submissions with altered dates/metadata will be disqualified.
  12. Participants authorize any photo submissions to be posted online, on social media or in print by Northalsted Business Alliance for promotional or editorial purposes without compensation or liability. Requests sent to [email protected] to remove any posted photos will be honored.
  13. Submission Moderators will evaluate photos, determine Challenge completion, and award points, whose decisions are final. For a list of Moderators contact [email protected]
  14. Each Challenge may only be completed one time during the Event.
  15. The top 10 scoring Contestants/Teams will be eligible to claim a prize Proud Spot stuffed animal. In the event of a tie, the first Contestant/Team to reach their final point total will be the winner.
  16. Winners will be notified by email or phone by November 2 and must pick up their prize in person at Northalsted Business Alliance office or mailing address within 30 days (by December 2, 2022).
  17. Winning Team participants will be awarded 1 prize regardless of the number of contributing people.
  18. Prize value: 1st place – $50, 2nd place – $30, 3rd-10th place – $25. Prizes cannot be substituted for cash.
  19. Participants/Teams must engage in all Scavenger Hunt activities safely, with common sense and Community Standards of conduct, obeying all traffic and pedestrian laws, and consuming alcohol responsibly.
  20. Contestants may not harass other participants, or trespass/enter non-public areas or access areas after posted/open hours and must not violate any Federal, State, or local City of Chicago ordinances.
  21. Contestants/Teams agree to waive, release, and hold harmless Northalsted Businesss Alliance, roamli app and developers, and any other event hosts or contributors from all claims for any liability, injury, loss or damage sustained in any way connected with participation in the Northalsted Find Spot Scavenger Hunt event and related activities, except where caused by the gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct by the release parties. This waiver and release also applies to any relatives, personal representative, heirs, beneficiaries, next of kin or assigns who might pursue any legal action or claim on the behalf of Contestants/Teams. This waiver and release is subject to and will be interpreted in accordance with Illinois law. 
  22. Northalsted Business Alliance reserves the right to disqualify Contestant/Teams for violation of rules, or revise these rules or add additional rules at any time prior to the start of the event, in the case of unforeseen behavior or circumstances.
