Yoshi Katsumura Memorial Tree Dedication

September 27, 2018 – Friends came together on a beautiful September evening in memory of the late chef, Yoshi Katsumura for the unveiling of a Japanese lilac tree planted in his honor and dedication plaque donated by Northalsted Business Alliance, located on the honorary Yoshi Katsumura Way, near the corner of North Halsted Street and Aldine Avenue.

The tree symbolizes Yoshi‘s legacy through inspirational service to the community from the kitchen of Yoshi‘s Cafe Chicago which closed after 39 years serving fine French-Japanese fusion cuisine in the Northalsted community in 2021.
