Emily Blue is a rare flavor of pop. Glitchy, sophisticated, and infectiously catchy, the Chicago vocalist and writer draws inspiration from Maggie Rogers, FKA Twigs, and Sylvan Esso. Her most recent release, nicknamed #BubbleGumAcidPop, features the dual-single “Blackberries // Rico Acid,” which gives a small but powerful preview of Blue’s (and producer Max Perenchio’s) capabilities.
