At Dexter Lock Service in Northalsted, Chicago, we are a locksmith that specializes in making new keys, copying, key cuts, and rekeying. All of our services can be done in our own shop or we can come to you! We work on antique locks and offer more than 104 years of local generational experience. We are a family-owned company with a proud heritage of helping Chicago, IL residents with all their lock issues; including problems with your deadbolt, door closer, electric strike, keys, knob locks, lever sets, and more.

Amazing service! I called and they were out and fixed the lock out within the half an hour. They even re-keyed the bottom lock to be the same as the deadbolt. The price was amazing too, I will certainly reuse them in the future if needed!

I needed my front door lock repaired so I called Dexter Locksmith. The owner took my information and the information needed to identify the lock. Then a friendly technician Noel arrived within 30 mins and repaired my lock in less than 15 mins (while also giving me education on why my lock broke and tips on door lock maintenance)!!! Thanks guys!

The gentleman weren't able to help me directly, but their expertise allowed me to reach out to the manufacturer to get replacement parts needed for a broken door lever. They were the only locksmith out of many that I reached out to that correctly identified the broken part and manufacturer.

Great service! I have been a long time customer, they always have the key I need and I need very random keys. Vintage motorcycle stuff I didn't know still existed, they've got it, just a few minutes and they will have it cut and you'll be on your way. The last time I went in, I only brought a lock cylinder from an old Honda scooter, they cut me a key.Again, great service, especially for odd-ball stuff.

Hell yeah, motorcycle keys! They cut a key for my 91 Honda Nighthawk in 5 minutes. Most shops I've tried don't do motorcycle keys. This is fantastic. Couldn't be happier.
