THE LEGACY PROJECT in Northalsted, Chicago intends to inform, inspire, enlighten, and foster an appreciation for the many roles Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) people have played in the advancement of world history and culture. The contributions of LGBT people have been overlooked, redacted, or removed entirely from nearly every textbook ever written – fueling destructive cultural marginalization for centuries. THE LEGACY WALK stands as permanent tribute to the lives and accomplishments of people who have made a difference in the world we share.
Northalsted Business Alliance is the chamber of commerce working to enhance the economic vitality and quality of life in our district through programming, services, and events that celebrate our LGBTQ+ history, promote tourism and foster a welcoming, safe community for all.
