Calling all plant lovers! As autumn descends and leaves begin to drop, we have something to add a splash of green to your indoor spaces. SSA 18 is hosting a plant giveaway event at Space Park on Roscoe, where Brightview Landscapes will be on hand for a portion of the event to provide plant care instruction to anybody who wants to provide these beautiful summer plants a cozy winter home. The beautiful foliage in our planters up and down Halsted can be a part of your plant family! Mark your calendar for September 26th, from 1pm to 6pm, and come down to adopt a plant. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to enrich your green collection!

Haunted Halsted Halloween Parade 2025
Join us for the 27th annual Haunted Halsted Halloween Parade (hauntedhalsted.com), rated one of the 10 best in the US! The free parade is a spectacle of sights, frights & spooky mayhem concluding with an Awards Show, live performance & dance party.
The Parade includes a Costume Contest with $4,000 in cash prizes in 5 categories. Sign up to participate free, all ages.
The 2025 Halloween Parade Grand Marshals to be announced!
The Parade also features the Chicago Full Moon Jam fire performers, Windy City Jeep Club, Chicago Thriller, Lakeside Pride Marching Band, The Windy City Rollers, and Chicago Spirit Brigade pep squad.
The costume competition covers 5 categories: Character, Creative, Scary, Youth (<13) and Group. Each category will have a $500/$200/$100 prize winner for 1st place/2nd place/3rd place, respectively.
