From Facebook:
Unity Green at Gill Park is a unique public park renovation located between the Uptown and Lakeview communities on north side of Chicago. The playground is intended as a precursor and catalyst to the implementation of the overall Master Plan. The playground was designed for ages 2-12 through educational, exploratory, and adventure areas that meld whimsical and colorful features with natural materials and play elements.
From patch.com:
The Gill Park playlot, 825 West Sheridan, includes new rubber and artificial turf climbing mounds, four slides, new swings (three belt swings, two tot swings and one ADA swing), a multi-deck play structure with monkey bars and a play house.
The new space also includes a “parkour” play structure, balance posts and beams, a spinner seat, log beams and stumps, and upside-down trees…
“We owe a big thanks to community members, including Alan Bell, who fundraised for years to make this project a reality,” said Ald. James Cappleman in a letter to residents. “46th Ward menu funds and donations from Cubs Charities also made this project possible.”
