Dear Friends,
Even after a year of significant challenges, we can always take time to appreciate our gifts, be proud of our strengths, learn from missteps, and spread kindness.
Suggested new year’s resolutions:
- Check in with your friends and neighbors
- Kindness is contagious
- Nurture your mental health
- Do something nice for someone you love TODAY
Below we share a fond look at some of Chicago’s Proudest moments that gave us joy, as we look forward to a better 2021.
Sincerely,
Northalsted Staff & Board of Directors

Chicago Rainbow Pride Crosswalks
Northalsted Chicago’s 14 Rainbow Pride Crosswalks were completed in May 2019 just in time for Pride Month and the 50th Anniversary of the historic Stonewall Inn riots that launched the LGBTQ+ pride movement.
Together they are the longest rainbow crosswalk project in the world, spanning over 1/2 mile. Funding for the project came entirely from public donations at Northalsted Market Days & Chicago Pride Fest.
