Strong Hands Gym is an LBGTQ+ centric gym in Northalsted that offers a variety of self defense classes, personal and functional training, boxing, and more.
We are an inclusive, yet distinctive part of the community–not a passive member.
Strong Hands Gym embraces values that set us apart, guide our actions, shape our programs and services, and result in meaningful & measurable outcomes for our members and the community as a whole. Therefore, we strive to accept ALL members of our gym and community. So, any who feel out of place and uncomfortable at other gyms will feel accepted, motivated, supported and empowered—no matter where they are in their personal/physical journey. To accomplish this, we have a diverse & unique group of high performers that fully believe in our purpose. Each individual has a strong focus on goals and results for themselves, as well as contribute to the success of the entire team. Our team will utilize our state-of-the-art facility as a platform to grow personally and professionally while supporting Strong Hands’ overall mission. We will be supportive of each other, collaborative, and have a great time doing it.
It goes without saying that Diego Cevallos-Garzon, the founder of Strong Hands Studio, can be proud of 10 years of experience as a personal trainer and over four years of experience as a massage therapist. Though, it’s not only about experience. His broad knowledge, excessive abilities as well as effective methods allowed him to train a number of UFC stars, including Jessica Pene, Jens Pulver, or Robbie Lawyer. In addition to that, Diego has participated in many amateur fights which enabled him to develop his boxing skills. Being openly gay, Diego has managed to establish a place, where everyone can find a spot full of respect and safety.
